1. Who we are and what this covers

Voice Typing Pro is a product of 854 Labs LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. This policy covers vtpro.dev, our support communications, and the Voice Typing Pro app. We will update this policy if the app’s data practices change.

This policy does not replace the privacy terms of macOS, an app store, an app you dictate into, or another service you choose to use.

2. Information processed on your Mac

The app processes microphone audio, recognition results, your selected speech model and language, shortcut settings, microphone choice, and permission state locally. Dictation audio is processed in memory. Temporary transcript recovery is kept in memory; copying recovery text requires your action. Speech models and app preferences remain on your Mac between sessions.

Input-related permissions allow the app to respond to your shortcut and type recognized words into another app. Text you dictate into another app becomes subject to that app’s storage, sync, and privacy behavior. Copying text to the clipboard makes it available to macOS and apps with clipboard access. Voice Typing Pro does not provide cloud transcript storage or backup.

You control microphone and input-related grants in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Granting access does not itself start recording. The app has no advertising or cross-app behavioral tracking.

3. Model downloads and other providers

Phonon-2 is provided by Fermion Research. The optional Whisper Turbo model uses the whisper.cpp Q5_0 format. The app downloads selected, pinned model files from Hugging Face over HTTPS and verifies them. Download requests disclose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and requested file, to the hosting and delivery providers. These requests do not include dictation audio or transcripts. See Hugging Face’s Privacy Policy.

No purchase or customer account is offered on this website. For Mac App Store downloads or purchases, Apple processes store account and payment information under Apple’s privacy terms. 854 Labs does not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

4. Website information and local preferences

Cloudflare hosts and protects vtpro.dev. It processes standard request information, including IP address, requested pages, browser or device information, and security information to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. We do not load Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or marketing tags on this website.

Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the theme preference. It remains until you change it or clear site data. We do not use that preference for tracking. Essential security mechanisms may be provided by Cloudflare under its policies.

5. Support requests and retention

If you use the support form, we receive the name, email address, topic, optional app and macOS versions, message, and other troubleshooting information you choose to provide. Our existing html.contact service processes the submission, source-page and standard anti-spam request information, including approximate location derived from the request. It stores the request in our support inbox and sends a notification to our Google mailbox. Google processes related correspondence.

Email to support@vtpro.dev is forwarded by Cloudflare to our Zoho mailbox. We use support information to respond, troubleshoot, handle privacy requests, protect our rights, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send audio, transcripts, passwords, payment details, or sensitive content.

Support submissions and correspondence are deleted within 24 months after the last interaction. Records used to complete a privacy rights request are deleted within 90 days after completion. A limited record may be kept longer where required by law or reasonably necessary for a security, fraud, payment, or legal dispute, and deleted when that obligation or dispute ends. Providers may retain limited security logs and backups under their own policies. Local models and preferences remain until removed from your Mac; clearing browser site data removes the theme choice.

6. Sharing, your choices, and your rights

We share the limited information described above with the providers needed to operate the website, deliver model files, and process support requests. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

854 Labs is based in the United States. Website and support information may be processed there and where our providers operate. Where applicable, we process support information to answer your request, provide a service you request, protect our legitimate interests in security and support, or comply with legal obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information we hold, and complain to your local privacy regulator. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact us at support@vtpro.dev or through the support form. We may verify your request before responding. We cannot access or delete dictation text stored solely on your Mac or in another app.

7. Children, security, and changes

Voice Typing Pro is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We use reasonable safeguards for information we handle, but no transmission or storage method is guaranteed secure. We may update this policy and will post the new version and date here, with additional notice where required.
